Woven in the very fabric of our culture in Japan is fear, shame and guilt causing widespread loneliness, isolation and the end result - suicide.  Covid-19 has amplified the long standing social epidemic and has shed enough light to get the government to take steps in providing solutions to the cause assigning a minister of lonliness.

God instructs us to defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. (Psalm 82:3)  To be their voice and speak up for the rights of all who are destitute, defend the rights of the poor and the needy. (Proverbs 31:8-9).

 

Summer of 2019, God put on our hearts to launch an initiative - ひとりではない (Hitori-De-Wa-Nai or in English, NOT ALONE) to reverse the trend of isolation in Japan.  We know that only God can eradicate this epidemic and He can use us and anyone else willing to fight the good fight.  

 

As we have been praying, unpacking what this will do, and preparing for the initial launch; we believe this initiative will lead to the reversal of the trend of isolation by engaging the local churches, collectively the CHURCH, throughout Japan to reach and serve those in desperate need of relationship.
